Monday Minutes

1. I still can't believe my baby sister is done with High School!! Craziness! I am so looking forward to celebrating with her! I can't wait to see her next week!

2. Apparently I am harbouring quite a bit of anxiety regarding the next 6 weeks. I haven't been sleeping well and I feel pretty jittery. I haven't felt this way since I got back from Saudi Arabia in 2002. It isn't a nervous anxiousness. It is an excited anxiousness, but I'm anxious, none the less. If I sit and look at it, we really do have a lot going on. (Buying a house, selling a house, fixing up a house, moving, traveling to MI by car, traveling to Hawaii, being away from home for 6 weeks, being away from Jason for 3 weeks, being away from Andrew for 1 week, seeing family, seeing friends, seeing places I haven't seen in 10 years, etc.)
I am thankful for all of it. Even the anxiety. I suppose it is just another character building lesson in handing it over to God.

3. Speaking of handing it over... I gave up on doing crafts with Andrew about 6 months ago. Just about every time I'd suggest a little creative project, he'd refuse. He'd even refuse to participate in crafts at MMO. I didn't push it and I stopped offering.
This past week all he has wanted to do is paint. So Saturday, we painted. And painted. And painted. We got messy. The three of us contributed to a family painting. We painted with our hands, brushed, blew, and threw paint.

His messy hands got blue paint on our dining room wall. I haven't washed it yet.

I think I might leave it there.

4. My first maternity photo session turned out to be not so bad after all. They were so easy to work with and were very relaxed which made me relax. Watching them together brought so many memories back from the last weeks before Andrew was born. It was such a tender time. I wonder, does it feel that way with a second child or is there a special type of tenderness reserved for a first born?

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.

-1 Samuel 1:27

5. Andrew discovered his heart. He likes to feel it and likes to listen to my heart. He says his heart is in his tummy. One day last week we were in the car and he announced, "Jesus is in my tummy!" I asked him what he meant. He said, "Jesus is in my tummy." (I finally made the connection). "Yes, baby. Jesus is in your heart." He then made a fist which he proceeded to open and close with the rythm of his heart beat. "Fireworks. Jesus feels fireworks in my tummy." He is so right.

Happy, happy Monday!!

He is right. I remember reading one of the footnotes in my Bible about the term "heart" referring to your stomach.
