I'm a daydreamer. I always have been. (I also have a crazy imagination, but that is for another post)Chances are, even though I'm looking at you or an object or the T.V., I'm off in my own little world thinking of something entirely unrelated. Well, that isn't entirely true. I'd say 75% of the time I'm engaged, the other 25% I'm wondering in my own world.
Sometimes this is good. Sometimes this is bad. Tonight it was a bit of both. Bittersweet.
Jason and I were watching American Idol. I was staring off into space (actually, looking at the dog's bed) and he asked me, What are you thinking about?
My first reply was Nothing.
There is no fooling him. What are you thinking about?
You really want to know? I replied.
Tell me. He insisted.
I was thinking about Andrew and his hats. Today when we were walking through campus, I looked at him with his winter hat on. I realized his hat won't fit him next year. Last year's hat didn't fit him this year. This year's hat will not fit him next year.
And I confessed this with tears in my eyes.

So sweet! It definitely is bittersweet. It sometimes sad to think of the little ones growing up.
i love that you were thinking that thought...and i love even more that it was a simple thought, but with depth and that it tore a little at your core.
thanks for this post...so neat and concise.
