Runnin' around

We've all caught the running bug. I caught the running bug about 10 months ago. My big race is in a month and a half. (Please note all finishers get a Vera Bradley Tote. This is totally worth the all of the blood, sweat, and tears...NOT. How about an iPod, Mr. Apple?) If all goes well, perhaps my BIG race is in 11 months?...We'll see.

Mr. B caught the running bug 4 weeks ago. His first 5K (3.1 miles) race was yesterday. Here he is at the starting line. (Mr. B, it sure doesn't look like you have your game face on. Tisk, tisk)He did very well for a first race. However, NOT WELL ENOUGH to beat Mr. Stretchypantsman, who placed 3rd in their age group, literally beating Mr. B by steps.
Here you can see Mr. B seconds before crossing the finish line as Mr. Stretchypantsman pulls ahead. Drats! (Again, you should have had your game face on, Mr. B). Despite the unforeseen upset, I am still impressed at his finish time, especially since he has only been running for 4 weeks. That's a guy for ya!

Speaking of guys...even little man has contracted the running bug. Look at him go!

Give any an open field and they will run! When it's nicer out, that's what we'll do. Go to a park with an open field and just let the kids loose.
