Reflections of a woman with a ginormous belly

This is why my house is still not unpacked. As I empty boxes, I get stuck on certain objects as I pull them out.

For expample...
the photo box (what pictures are in here? Let's sit and look through all of them!)
the box of batteries (seriously, how many C-batteries does a person need? Let's reorganize the box of batteries!)
the box of clothes (hmmmm, I wonder if this fits my 1-year-post-pregnancy-still have 10 pounds to lose- body? Let's try them on!)
the box of frames (Can I hang these here? or here? No, no, no....HERE)

Today I found my pregnancy journal and got stuck reading it for a while. I didn't fill out all of it, especially the sections after he was born. I wish I would have. But apparently I was too busy being mommy. Can I go back and fill it out or would that be cheating?

One part I did fill out I thought I'd share with you. Nothing too deep or enlightening...just a subtle reminder to celebrate the anxieties overcome and prayers answered:

My Pregnancy
My Hopes and Dreams: A healthy, happy, stress free pregnancy and a quick, safe, healthy, painless delivery.

What I am looking forward to: The changes, trying to remember every moment, watching Mr. B as a father, welcoming you into our lives!

Things I am hesitant about: Labor/delivery, breastfeeding, being overwhelmed with visitors when you arrive.

What excites me the most about being pregnant: Knowing that God created me as a woman and how very special and unique His gift is to all me to carry you.

People who will play an important role throughout my pregnancy and why:
Your Daddy- he is my biggest fan, my best friend, my balance, my breath of fresh air. He is going to be a great father to you and I can't wait to see you grow together.
God- He is my comforter, my strength, my hope, and my sense of peace.
Our Moms and Dads- they are always there for us with advice, support, wisdom, prayers. They are prime examples for Mr. B and I to follow as parents.

do those things still remain true?

I'm SO much like your description that Henry actually calls my clean-up time, "look through 15-year-old pictures time."

It was a healthy, happy pregnancy, stress-free for the most part. Painless delivery (thanks to modern medicine). Not so painless recovery (the part that no one talks about).

I don't remember every moment, but at each moment I try to take it all in.

Labor wasn't too bad.
I am still nursing.
I was overwhelmed by many things, but visitors was not one of them.

I am so thankful I am a woman and it truly is a gift to carry another being inside of you and give life.

All is still true about my husband. We have learned a lot about ourselves this past year...not all good, but most of it.

Although I feel a bit distant at times, the Lord is still my strength and always will be.

Our parents have been there for us and love our son as much as we do.

The pregnancy and birth seem so pleasant and like they took place ages ago. I truly enjoyed being pregnant. The first year is a bit different. I am not sure I am ready to do the first year again. I won't elaborate on that right now, that is for another post! In the meantime, I will just enjoy where we are right now and try to take in every moment.

Your process for cleaning up is genetic. I prefer the word process to procrastination. I am the same way with cleaning and organizing.
Molly has declared the procrastination to be genetic.
