The Sight and Sound of Freedom

"...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles..."
-Isaiah 40:31

This week we had the privilege of attending a private flight demonstration on base. (All pictures can be seen by clicking here) We had dinner at the base BK and then moved to the lawn to watch an amazing display of Air Power. The B-1, B-2, F-15, F-16, F-4, and P-51 dazzled us for over an hour. We were "buzzed" over and over again, making every hair on our bodies stand on end. Baby B didn't seem bothered by the noise and as always, Mr. B and I were moved to tears. It is an unexplainable feeling to watch and feel the sheer power of the fighters shake you right down to your core.
After the demonstration we visited static displays on the flight line. As we entered the flight line, Retreat sounded over the loud speakers. It was an amazing site to see an entire flight line full of aircraft of all shapes and sizes, service men and women standing at attention, old men and young children with their hands over their hearts, all silent and still as the National Anthem was played. My heart swelled with gratitude for being able to witness and be a part of something so awesome. We are so thankful for our military community and for all of the sacrifices they make on behalf of our country and our freedom.
