On Wednesday October 4th, 2006 we met the man of our dreams. We met at 5:57PM in an uncomfortable room full of stainless steel, fluorescent lights, and unfamiliar faces. Hidden inside 41 weeks of darkness, he entered the room with his deep blue eyes wide open as if he was taking everything in. All 7 lbs 13oz of him laid upon my chest. There was familiarity yet foreignness as I looked at him for the first time. All I could mutter was, "Hello. You are here."
"Here" he has been for 1 year. Never before have we known what it meant to love, fear, miss, crave, tire, anger, panic, smile, laugh, or hope. We love this little man more than we can put into words.

Loved meeting your little man this past weekend. It was so nice to see everyone. Next time we leave our Dads out of the planning. Maybe the surprises can be where they're planned rather than at Rite Aid.
